必赢体育app中国官方网站鈥檚 Environment business has received a commendation for the Group鈥檚 collaboration with Yorkshire Water and engineers GHD on the Sewage Spill Reduction Programme (SSRP) at this year鈥檚鈥疘nstitution of Civil Engineers (ICE)鈥痀orkshire and Humber Awards.
The ICE awards celebrate outstanding projects, teamwork, and individual achievements and the SSRP project received a special commendation for the 鈥楽ir John Fowler鈥 Award, that highlights exceptional work in research and studies. Located at Cricket Inn Crescent in Sheffield, the SSRP project tackles overflow issues while implementing a low-carbon solution to reduce spills.
As part of the effort to improve water quality in the Don, the project includes rebuilding the storm overflow upstream, adding new manholes, upgrading equipment and pipework, and increasing the network's capacity. These upgrades will help the sewer network retain more stormwater during heavy rainfall, ensuring it is fully treated before being released.
The SSRP also had a shortlisting for the 鈥楽meaton鈥 Award, celebrating projects under 拢5m that exemplify civil engineering excellence and the Harton Service Reservoir project working with Yorkshire Water, GHD and Murtagh Precast Ltd received a shortlisting for the Centenary Award for exemplifying the very best in engineering, collaboration, and innovation.
Mark Shadrick, Managing Director for 必赢体育app中国官方网站鈥檚 Environment Business, commented: 鈥淲e are delighted to receive this recognition, and I鈥檓 incredibly proud of the team for showcasing our commitment to quality across the business.鈥
