必赢体育app中国官方网站鈥檚 Samuel Landrigan is attempting to set a new world record for the fastest time to complete a half-marathon (13.1 miles) in full bee-keeping gear!

Sam, who works on the Highways business鈥檚 A303 scheme in Somerset, began keeping bees in 2020 and has recently decided to combine his passion for bee-keeping with a lifelong ambition to set a world record. The attempt will take place on 16 October, and if successful, will grant Sam a place in the Guinness World Records Hall of Fame.

Donning a full bee-keeping suit, complete with hood, gloves and boots, Sam will also be running to raise money for local charity, We Hear You, which aims to provide free therapeutic support for children and families in Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire who are affected directly or indirectly by cancer and other life-threatening conditions.

When asked how he felt about attempting this 鈥榖ee-wildering鈥 world record, Sam buzzed: 鈥淚鈥檝e done a few half, as well as full, marathons in the past, however I鈥檝e never done anything like this dressed head-to-toe in fancy dress, never mind in wellies! In fact, I鈥檝e purposely not trained in them to avoid being put off altogether. It won't be fast and it won't be pretty but hopefully, after submitting all the evidence, I'll be a world record holder.鈥

He added: 鈥淢any of my friends and I have close ties with charity We Hear You, and I wanted to run for a local charity that makes a real difference. They do great work for families going through difficult situations so I was eager to help raise money for this fantastic cause.鈥
